We are very pleased to introduce our new website to both our existing Michigan customers,
who have always known us as SpeedNet, LLC and our customers that were formerly served
by CommSpeed. The combined company will now be known as SpeedConnect in both
Michigan and Iowa.
Our new and improved website not only introduces our new company name, but has also
been reorganized for ease of use by our existing customers while adding a number of new
features for all.
You may be asking why we would change our name from SpeedNet, LLC to SpeedConnect.
When we purchased the network and operation in Iowa, it was determined that using the
name SpeedNet would not be an option of us. SpeedConnect is a name we've owned for
a number of years, and when we decided to use it as our brand it Iowa, it just made sense
to rename our entire operation.
For our existing customers, you'll find the E-Mail login, My Accounts Management, and
Refer a Friend sections predominately displayed on the new home page. You'll also find
a new and improved support tab for any questions you may have about SpeedConnect
service.
If you are visiting our site for the first time, our residential and commercial tabs have clear
and concise information about SpeedConnect services and who to contact for assistance.
We have also invested in the software that allows us to prequalify your address for
SpeedConnect service in our check availability section. Enhanced graphics and access to
Google Earth will clearly let you know if we reach your home or business.
Whenever we ask our customer's why they choose SpeedConnect as their broadband
provider, the top answer is always because of our people, reliability of the service, and
our Lock Your Rate in Forever promise.
The pictures you see on our homepage are the members of SpeedConnect's team. From
John Ogren our CEO to members of our sales team, everyone at SpeedConnect works hard
to make sure we earn the right to provide your broadband connection. At the end of the

SpeedNet, LLC is a Michigan Limited Liability Corporation and is principally owned by Robert G. Liggett and John A. Ogren. These gentlemen have an extensive history in the telecommunications and customer service industries. The Liggett Group has ownership interests in several large radio broadcast markets and owns the Big Boy restaurant chain among other ventures. SpeedNet's Managing Partner, John Ogren, is a 25 year career professional in the cable television, data and telecommunications industries.

John A. Ogren John Ogren is the founder and managing partner of SpeedConnect, a SpeedNet, LLC company. After a successful career in the cable television industry, Mr. Ogren and his business partner Robert Liggett, Jr. purchased the rights to the 2.5GHz spectrum in Alpena, Mi and began offering wireless broadband service in Northern Michigan. Subsequent spectrum acquisitions in Saginaw, Mt. Pleasant, Bad Axe, and Traverse City led to SpeedConnect's expansion on the Mid Michigan area. In May of 2010, Mr. Ogren purchased the spectrum rights of CommSpeed in Eastern Iowa leading to the further expansion of SpeedConnect. Mr. Ogren holds a BA and MBA from Michigan State University. |

Bruce K. Moore Bruce Moore joined SpeedConnect in August of 2005 as Vice President and General Manager. Under his direction, SpeedConnect has grown from 2,500 customers to nearly 12,000. Mr. Moore is responsible for the daily operation of SpeedConnect's business in Michigan and Iowa. A graduate of Michigan State University with a degree in Telecommunication, Mr. Moore has 25 years of sales, marketing, customer service and operational leadership experience. |

Mary Kay Orsini Mary Kay joined SpeedConnect in August of 2002 and is responsible for office management, human resources, accounts receivable, and all billing functions at SpeedConnect. Prior to SpeedConnect, Mary Kay has over twenty years of human resources, payroll and benefits administration.

Anthony Lounsberry Tony joined SpeedConnect in February of 2009 as Sales and Marketing Manager. With over 14 years experience in sales, sales management, and market expansion leadership; Tony has been the leader in identifying and successfully launching new market expansion opportunities for SpeedConnect in Michigan. He is responsible for managing SpeedConnect's dealer network, both the residential and commercial sales department, as well as coordinating marketing efforts.

Randy Valentine Randy joined SpeedConnect in August of 2009 as Technical Operations Manager. Randy has worked in the IT industry since 1995 as a network administrator and since 2000 has been a consultant working on many advanced telecommunication technologies. Mr. Valentine is responsible for the daily performance of SpeedConnect's network, and the future technology growth of SpeedConnect. Randy's extensive experience in the IP industry has been crucial in the growth of our customer base.

Where can I sign up for SpeedNet?
SpeedNet is located at 3049 Bay Plaza Drive, Saginaw, MI 48604; and also has authorized
dealers throughout our coverage areas. You may also call 866-297-2900 option 1.
Is SpeedNet as fast as cable or DSL?
Yes. SpeedNet connections are up to 3.0 Mbs. You can download a 3 MB song in 8 seconds.
Do I need a phone line or cable to get SpeedNet?
No. SpeedNet service does not require a phone line or cable connection.
Do I need an antenna on my home?
Depending on your service area and/or distance from tower you may require an external
antenna. Call SpeedNet at 866-297-2900 for more details.
I tried to get SpeedNet before but couldn't. Can I get SpeedNet now?
SpeedNet is constantly expanding our coverage area. Check your address on our website
for updates.
Is SpeedNet Wi-Fi?
No. SpeedNet's connections are secure and use FCC-Licensed frequencies. WiFi operates on
unlicensed 2.4 Ghz frequencies, which are vulnerable to scanning and packet interception.
What is FCC-Licensed and why does it matter?
SpeedNet is FCC-Licensed. This means we have the exclusive rights to the frequencies we
transmit on. SpeedNet's frequencies are similar to radio and television stations. Other wireless companies use public frequencies that are cluttered with traffic and interference. SpeedNet
provides better performance, security and reliability.
Is SpeedNet satellite?
No. You do not receive signal from satellites. SpeedNet utilizes radio and cellular towers, water towers and tall buildings similar to television stations and cellular companies.
Is SpeedNet service as reliable as cable, DSL or dial-up?
Yes. SpeedNet's connection is secure and reliable. SpeedNet's service is not affected by cut
cable or static phone lines.
Can multiple computers be connected at the same time?
Yes. With the use of a router you can have multiple computers connected to the Internet at
the same time.
Will I receive a monthly invoice?
You can receive a monthly bill via email for no charge. Please add billing@speednetllc.com to
your email address book to ensure you receive your monthly statement. If you would like a
paper bill in the mail there will be a $1.50 monthly statement processing fee. If you choose to use a credit or debit card for auto pay, you will not receive a bill but may view your account history via our website under "Manage Your Account Here" located in the upper right hand side of the page. Billing cycles are billed in advanced. Bills are sent out on or about the 20th of the month. Paper statements are due on the 10th of the month. Email billing statements are due on the 5th of the month.
How can I pay my bill?
You can mail a check with your invoice stub. You can pay online with any major credit card or debit card. To pay your bill online, you must create a PIN using the instructions found on
SpeedNet's website www.speednetllc.com under the link "My SpeedNet" and
"Manage Your Account Here".
How do I set up my email accounts?
Call technical support toll free, at 866-297-2900 option 2.
What is the early termination fee?
The early termination fee is $250 or the remainder of your agreement, whichever is less.
How should I prepare for SpeedNet?
To prepare for SpeedNet you should make sure that your PC or laptop has the latest updates
installed and anti-virus software.

Reset your SpeedNet modem by disconnecting the power to the modem, waiting 10 seconds, then reconnecting the power. Most modems will come online within 1 minute but may take as long as 5 minutes.
Reset Your Router
Reset your router by disconnecting the power to the router, waiting 10 seconds, then reconnecting the power. Most routers will come online within 1 minute but may take longer.
Bypass Your Router
Bypass your router by connecting a single computer directly into the SpeedNet modem and then reset the modem. You may have to release and renew the IP address of your computer.
Changing Computers or Routers
If you change the device your SpeedNet modem is connected to (such as disconnecting a router and plugging directly into a computer or vice versa) you must reset the SpeedNet modem. You may also have to release and renew the IP address of your router or computer.

How to Create a Web Page
Each SpeedNet user has an account on the www.speednetllc.com or
www.speednet.name server.
Here is an example that illustrates the location of a user web page:
Username = username
Address of Web Page = http://www.speednetllc.com/username or
http://www.speednet.name/username
The file default.html is your home page. This file must be present in the root directory or
your site will not work properly.
So, for example, when people go to:
http://www.speednetllc.com/username
What they see is actually:
http://www.speednetllc.com/username/default.html where "default.html" is the file located
at username/default.html
Uploading with FTP to your Web Page
Once you have created your web pages and are ready to transfer them to the SpeedNet
Web Server, you can use an FTP client such as WS_FTP to complete the transfer.
1. Open your FTP client.
2. Enter www.speednetllc.com (or www.speednet.name) for "Host Name."
3. Choose Automatic Detect for "Host Type."
4. Enter your username for "User ID," and your password for "password. "
5. Click on Connect to connect to the SpeedNet FTP Server.
Once connected, you will end up in your root directory on the SpeedNet Web Server.
The left side of the screen shows the contents of your computer; the right side is the
contents of the SpeedNet Web Server.
It is important that you place all of your web page files in the root directory. Remember
that your home page must be titled "default.html." To change directories, double click on
the directory you want to enter.
Most FTP programs transfer files by clicking on arrows that point in either direction.
You can view your web page while you make updates by viewing:
http://www.speednetllc.com/yourusername/

Representative, Channel Manager, Direct Sales Manager, Branch Manager, Business
Development Manager or related title
* Experience selling in a high transactional sales environment
